Dear distinguished guests, fellow veterans, ladies and gentlemen:
President John F. Kennedy once said, “a nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces, but also by the men it honors, the men it remembers.” In that spirit, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to honor you with my heartfelt THANK YOU for your service!
To our Aunts and Uncles of the QLVNCH, we are forever grateful for your military service and sacrifice in protecting your fellow countrymen from communism for over 20 years. Collectively, we owe you and your families a great debt, one infinitely larger than can ever be repaid. Tonight, I can’t say that I could fully comprehend what you and your families have been through during those very difficult years. However, I can honestly say, to some degree, that I do understand your sacrifice and your pride towards being a proud member of the QLVNCH because I am also very proud of my father who served and gave his life to our homeland in addition to his only brother (my uncle) who also served with the elite Ranger BDQ units in Hue for most of his adult life until the war ended. My 30+ years of military service in America has also given me a greater appreciation for your service to our motherland. You have my sincere admiration and respect as fellow veterans.
