Một tuần trước, được tin thành phố Ottawa sẽ treo cờ
Việt Cộng trong ngày 02/09/2014 để kỷ niệm cái gọi là "Ngày Quốc
Khánh" của Việt Cộng, dù biết đây chỉ là nghi thức ngoại giao, song các hội
đoàn của Cộng Đồng Người Việt tỵ nạn cộng sản và BCH Hội Ái Hữu Cựu Sinh Viên
Sĩ Quan Trừ Bị Thủ Đức Ontario cũng đã gửi thư yêu cầu Thị Trưởng thành phố
Ottawa, ông Jim Watson và 23 Nghị Viên xét lại việc này nhưng không thể thay đổi
quyết định của họ. Do đó, đồng hương khắp nơi đã hưởng ứng lời kêu gọi của
"Nhóm Thanh Niên Canadian tranh đấu cho Nhân quyền tại Việt Nam" đồng
loạt kéo về Ottawa tổ chức biểu tình trước Toà Thị Chính Ottawa và sau đó là
Toà Đại Sứ Việt Cộng để phản đối.
Bằng nhiều phương tiện khác nhau, chúng tôi nhận thấy
có quý đồng hương từ London - Kichener, Toronto - GTA, Montreal... phối hợp với
đồng hương Ottawa, ước lượng khoảng 200 người tập trung tại địa điểm Tượng Đài
Nhân Quyền (Human Rights Monument) ở góc
đường Elgin và Lisgar, Ottawa trước giờ ấn định 30 phút.
Sau khi được Ban Tổ Chức biểu tình và Hội Ái Hữu Cựu
Sinh Viên Sĩ Quan Trừ Bị Thủ Đức Ontario "trang bị hoả lực" gồm Cờ
Vàng, biểu ngữ, loa phóng thanh, cuộc biểu tình bắt đầu đúng 12 giờ trưa.
Mở đầu là phần hát quốc ca Canada, Việt Nam Cộng Hoà
và phút mặc niệm. Ngay sau đó cháu Nhan Duy Khang - Phó Chủ tịch Ngoại vụ, Nhóm
Thanh Niên Canadian tranh đấu cho Nhân Quyền tại Việt Nam (Canadian Youth for Human
Rights in Vietnam - CYHRV) ngỏ lời cám ơn cô, chú, bác và bà con khắp nơi đã tập
trung về đây để nói lên nguyện vọng chung của Cộng Đồng Người Việt tỵ nạn cộng
sản tại Canada là không chấp nhận lá cờ máu của chính quyền Việt Cộng treo trước
Toà Thị Chính Ottawa, để mừng cái gọi là "Ngày Quốc Khánh" của Việt Cộng.
Tiếp theo lời phát biểu của cháu Nhan Duy Khang, cháu
Lê Thế Quốc Việt, Thủ Quỹ của Canadian Youth for Human Rights in Vietnam
(CYHRV) cũng gửi lời đến Thị trưởng Ottawa và các vị Nghị Viên rằng Việt Nam Cộng
Sản là chế độ vi phạm nhân quyền, dùng công an đàn áp tôn giáo và người yêu nước
v.v...
Đặc biệt hai cháu Duy Khang và Quốc Việt nói tiếng Việt
rất lưu loát. Hai cháu đã được đồng hương vỗ tay hoan hô nhiều lần. Xin cám ơn
ba mẹ của hai cháu đã dạy cho hai cháu tiếng Việt và tinh thần Quốc Gia, chống
độc tài cộng sản.
Thư ký văn phòng Thượng Nghị Sĩ Ngô Thanh Hải, ông
Vincent Labrosse dùng hai thứ tiếng Anh - Pháp nói lời ủng hộ cuộc biểu tình.
Được biết ông đang theo học lớp Việt ngữ nên nói được vài câu tiếng Việt, rất
được đồng hương táng thưởng.
Sau đó BTC lần lượt mời đại diện các hội đoàn và cá
nhân lên phát biểu như: Chị Đặng Thị Danh phái đoàn Montreal, anh Đặng Nghiêm
Tiến, cô Duy Hân phái đoàn Toronto, Alfa Nguyễn Văn Phát, Chủ tịch Hội Ái Hữu Cựu
Sinh Viên Sĩ Quan Trừ Bị Thủ Đức Ontario...

Các cơ quan truyền thông của Canada tại Ottawa cũng đến
thu thập hình ảnh và phỏng vấn, sau đó đã đưa tin đầy đủ để người dân và chính
phủ Canada biết phản ứng của Cộng Đồng Người Việt đối với lá cờ máu của Việt Cộng.

1 giờ trưa đoàn biểu tình (được cảnh sát hướng dẫn) di
chuyển đến Toà Thị Chính Ottawa với rừng Cờ Vàng và biểu ngữ để cho các vị dân
cử Ottawa nhìn tận mắt sự tức giận của Cộng Đồng Người Việt tỵ nạn cộng sản tại
Canada khi nhìn thấy lá cờ máu cuả Việt Cộng.
Với tinh thần hăng say và quyết tâm không chấp nhận cộng
sản, 2 giờ đoàn biểu tình lại kéo đến Toà Đại Sứ Việt Cộng, 55 Mackay St.
Tại đây đồng hương lại có dịp dán vào mắt bọn VC hèn hạ
rừng Cờ Vàng và biểu ngữ, đồng thời thét vào tai chúng những lời tố cáo
"hèn với giặc, ác với dân" ...
Với nhiệm vụ săn ảnh, viết tin, chúng tôi phải chạy khắp các nơi trong
khu vực biểu tình, nhờ thế đã gặp lại rất nhiều đồng hương đã tham dự các cuộc
biểu tình chống Việt Cộng và Tàu Cộng trước đây, như ở Toronto ngày 11/05,
Ottawa 28/05 và Washington DC. 2 ngày 16 - 17/05/2014. Qúy vị cao niên từ 80 tuổi
trở lên như bác Lưu Tiên 93 tuổi ngồi xe lăn (mẹ của anh chị Vững & Oanh),
bác Lâm Bùi, Bs Bùi Xuân Nhiếp, niên trưởng Trần Quang Thọ... cũng có mặt.
Đặc biệt là không hề vắng anh Nguyễn Sơn chống gậy, cô
Nguyễn Sỹ Thùy Ngân chống nạng và cô Nhật Phụng trước đây cũng chống gậy nhưng
nay đã khỏi.
Chúng tôi cũng gặp lại sư đệ Lê Lâm & sư muội Lê
Trúc Đào con đại tá Lê Văn Phú, cựu TMT Trường Bộ Binh theo phái đoàn Montreal
xuống
Đúng theo chương trình, đoàn biểu tình giải tán lúc 3
giờ chiều, ngay sau đó là một cơn mưa to trút xuống. Phải chăng "Khi nên
trời cũng chìu người"? (Kiều).
Ngoại trừ đồng hương cư ngụ tại Ottawa, phần còn lại
phải mất từ 5 - 8 tiếng lái xe về nhà. Tuy vậy mọi người đều rất vui vì đã làm
được điều gì đó dù nhỏ nhoi, nhưng nói lên tinh thần đoàn kết, quyết chí không
lùi bước trước lá cờ máu và tập đoàn cộng sản Việt Nam bán nước.

Good afternoon my fellow brothers and sisters,
We are here (Ottawa City Hall) today ( Sep 2nd, 2014)
to shed some light on a controversial issue that affects the lives and identities
of us Vietnamese Canadians. Those of us, who have made it here, have done so with
the help of a compassionate and sympathetic Canadian government. Canada granted
us refuge when our home was bombarded and seized from us. We were given a
chance to start a new life and that’s something that we’ll never forget.
However, we will also never forget any of the cruel and inhumane travesties
committed by the Vietnamese Communist regime. Since the Vietnam War and still ongoing
today, the Vietnamese Communist party has been in constant violation of basic
human rights. That is why we stand here before you in Ottawa today to ask that
Canada must also not forget our perilous journey for survival and the constant
struggle of those left behind. We should be fighting for those who have been
stripped of their rights instead of turning a blind eye and even backing their
corrupt oppressors.
The unjust imprisonment of human rights activists and
web bloggers and the merciless beating of innocent citizens are just a few of
the common atrocities that happen every day in Vietnam. With that in mind,
Ottawa’s mayor, Jim Watson plans to fly the Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s
flag today at City Hall in honour of Vietnam’s Independence Day. To see this
happen in our home country is like parading Hitler’s Nazi flag in front of a
Jewish community. This show of support for the Vietnamese Community Party is a
major concern for us and must be put to a stop. We free Vietnamese Canadians do
not recognize the Vietnamese communist flag, as it represents cruelty,
oppression and injustice.
The government of Canada has been made aware of the
controversy between its Vietnamese Canadian citizens and the Vietnamese
communist regime. Mayor Jim Watson has been a guest of honour at many events
hosted by the Vietnamese community in Ottawa where only the Freedom Flag of
Vietnam is flown. August 23rd or Black Ribbon Day was established here to
remember all of the victims of communism. Prime Minister Steven Harper has also
approved the building of a memorial statue for the victims of communism right
here in Ottawa. We are honoured to have the support of our government in the
fight for human rights and wish for your continued support. That is why we urge
Mayor Jim Watson to reconsider flying the Socialist Republic of Vietnam flag at
City Hall today. Let us stand together in solidarity to show our support for
all those who are suffering under the oppression of a corrupt government and
let us condemn all those who would violate the basis rights of a fellow human
being.

Ladies and Gentlemen, our dear Canadian Friends,
We are Vietnamese Canadians who have come here from
across Canada to protest against the red flag of the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam, which is raised right here at the
capital of our country today. Because of the diplomatic relation
between this city and Communist Vietnam, their
red, bloody flag is allowed to fly in
our free country, Canada on the "so-called" Vietnamese Independence
Day of September second by mayor Jim Watson.
As the Vietnamese Boat People that have left
everything behind, risked our lives on the high sea to seek freedom and humanity,
we are hurt and very upset to see the bloodshed Communist flag flying in our
new country, and we are here to let you know that.
Canada is a leading defender of Freedom, Democracy and
Human Rights. Everyone who belongs to this great country should do their best
to uphold these values and never allow anything that goes against them. What we
see here today is the opposite, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson is flying the bloody
evil Vietnamese Communist flag in our capital city. We are truly hurt and
insulted, and we are here to tell you that.
During the Vietnam War, millions of Vietnamese
innocent civilians were murdered by the Vietnamese Communist Regime under this
evil red flag. The murder and oppression in Vietnam still goes on as of today,
39 years after the war ended. The Vietnamese Communist Regime continues to
commit crimes against their own people and against the human race on a daily
basis. They should have been punished instead of being honoured. Mayor Jim
Watson should care more about the Citizens of Ottawa instead of the foreigners,
the evil Communists.
I hope that our dear Canadian People, who highly value
Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights will hear our call, and support us in our
protest against the brutal Vietnamese Communist Regime and their flag, under
which they murdered, oppressed and destroyed innocent people.
I also hope that mayor Jim Watson will reconsider his
decision, and chooses the Vietnamese Canadian Citizens of Ottawa, instead of
the Vietnamese Communist Murderers, to be his true friends.

Ladies, Gentlemen and fellow Canadians.
We are here to demonstrate against the City of Ottawa
flying the Vietnamese Communist flag. The city said that their position to fly
any country flag on the occasion of their national day, but what benefit does this
city, this country or its people receive by flying this Communist Vietnamese
flag? None at all.
Flying the Viet Cong flag has the opposite effect. By
flying this flag, it evokes the suffering of those Vietnamese Canadians who
fled the country after the Communist imposed communism to the south Vietnam.
Flying the Viet Cong flag also shows a lack of empathy
and a complete disregard for human rights in Vietnam. Even as recently as the
26 of August, the Vietnamese government imprisoned another 3 human rights activists in Vietnam.
By flying that Vietnam Communist flag, the City of
Ottawa does not support Canadians but supports a nearby embassy that undermines
our community at every opportunity. I challenge the City of Ottawa to call on
the Vietnam Government to free
those 3 activists starting now, by removing this flag
to protest those human rights abuses.

and we would like to ask our fellow Canadians please help us to raise your
