THÀNH PHỐ GARDEN GROVE
Ấn Định Little Saigon là Địa Danh Lịch Sử của Garden Grove
Xét Rằng: Little Saigon, bao gồm khu vực của các thành phố Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, và Santa Ana, là nơi tập trungđông cư dân (người Mỹ) gốc Việt nhất ở bên ngoài Việt Nam; và
Xét Rằng: Little Saigon đã bắt đầu hình thành vào năm 1975 với một số ít
cửa tiệm tọa lạc giữa
các bãi
dâu và vườn
cam. Ngày nay, Little Saigon đã lan rộng trên 20 mẫu đất, hằng năm tiếp
đón hàng trăm ngàn du khách đến với
hơn 4,
000 cơ sở thương mại hoạt động
trong khu vực;
và
Xét Rằng: Vào Tháng 12 Năm 2002, Thành Phố đã quyết định xây dựng hai tấm bản-- một ở hướng bắc từ xa lộ Garden Grove SR-22 trên đường Brookhurst Street, chạy dài nửa mile đến hướng nam tận Hazard Avenue với bản thứ hai để đánh dấu địa phận của Little Saigon bao gồm 1,000 kinh doanh trong khu vực “Little Saigon, Vietnamese Business District of Garden Grove”; và
Xét Rằng: Với dân số người Mỹ gốc Việt hơn 47,000, Garden Grove được vinh dự là Thành Phố có đông đão cư dân Mỹ gốc Việt nhất tại miền Nam California. Trong nhiều năm qua, Garden Grove đã cho phép tổ chức Hội Chợ Tết miền Nam California, được công nhận là Hội Chợ Tết lớn nhất bên ngoài Việt Nam; và
Xét Rằng: Garden Grove tiếp tục hãnh diện ghi nhận những đóng góp lớn lao của Little Saigon với tư cách một trung tâm thương mại tầm cở xứng đáng được vinh danh là Địa Danh Lịch Sử của Thành Phố Garden Grove.
Cho Nên, Bây Giờ: Hội Đồng Thành Phố Garden Grove chính thức vinh danh và ấn định Little Saigon là Địa Danh Lịch Sử (Honorary Landmark).

RESOLUTION
Designating Little Saigon as a Garden Grove Honorary Landmark
Whereas, Little Saigon, encompassing areas of Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, and Santa Ana, has the largest concentration of Vietnamese-Americans outside of Vietnam; and
Whereas, Little Saigon began its formation in 1975 with a small cluster of stores nestled among strawberry and orange fields. Today, the 20-acre site welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors per year patronizing more than 4,000 businesses in the area; and
Whereas, In December 2002, the City approved the installation of two monument signs designating a half-mile stretch along Brookhurst Street, from south of the Garden Grove SR-22 Freeway, to north of Hazard Avenue, containing approximately 1,000 businesses, as “Little Saigon, Vietnamese Business District of Garden Grove”; and
Whereas, With a Vietnamese-American population of over 47,000, Garden Grove holds the distinction of having the highest Vietnamese-American population in Southern California. For several years, Garden Grove has hosted the Southern California Tet Festival, recognized as the largest Tet Festival outside of Vietnam; and
Whereas, Garden Grove continues to proudly acknowledge Little Saigon’s influence as a significant, recognized, and dynamic commercial center in Garden Grove, and worthy of being named a Garden Grove Honorary Landmark.
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Garden Grove City Council does hereby venerably designate Little Saigon as an official Garden Grove Honorary Landmark.
