China uses lethal force on Tibetans once again

Condemn China's use of lethal force against Tibetan protestors!

Once again, China has used lethal force against unarmed Tibetan demonstrators. Please join us today in sending China a message that its total disrespect for life and the right to free expression, cannot be tolerated. http://bit.ly/1BxNRVT

On 12 August in eastern Tibet, Chinese security forces opened fire on Tibetan demonstrators, who had gathered in support of arrested village leader named Wangdak. At least 10 Tibetans were wounded, and in the last 24 hours news has emerged that one has died from his injuries and another, named Lo Palsang - has apparently committed suicide in custody, "in protest against the torture by the Chinese authorities" (source Radio Free Asia).

Send a message of protest to local leaders in China, condemning the use of lethal force and calling for all those injured or detained to be treated and released. Sign the petition below, directed to Party Secretary of Kardze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Hu Chang Shen, and the Sichuan Party Secretary, Wang Dongming.

I am writing to express my outrage at the shooting of at least 10 unarmed Tibetans in Luoxu Township, Shiqu county, Ganzi, following which two Tibetans have died. China's use of lethal force to suppress peaceful demonstrations is unacceptable to the international community.

You must immediately release all those who have been detained and guarantee proper medical treatment, without fear of arrest, to those injured.
